A HOME was guarded by police for several days after a man was assaulted in a town centre and bundled into a car by a gang.
The victim, from outside the area, was approached by a group of men on Blackburn Boulevard.
A member of the public saw the incident and reported it to the police.
Officers said he was taken to a house and held against his will for a short time.
He was later released and left the area with minor injuries.
After the incident on Sunday, there was a police presence outside a house in Charlotte Street, Shear Brow, Blackburn, for several days while police made further inquiries.
Two men aged 27 and 29 were arrested on suspicion of kidnap and later released without charge pending further inquiries - as per the new rules on police bail.
A police spokesman said: “Police are investigating an assault that took place in Blackburn on Sunday, July 3.
“A 31 year old man visiting the area was assaulted by three men on Blackburn Boulevard and taken to a nearby house where he was held for a short time before being released.
“Two men from Blackburn aged 27 and 29 were arrested and have been released at this stage whilst the investigation continues."
