A THIEF twice breached a court order by going shoplifting in Burnley stores.
Blackburn magistrates heard an application will now be made for a criminal anti-social behaviour order against Stephen Hoskin.
Hoskin, 45, of Thorn Street, Burnley, pleaded guilty to stealing salmon and razor blades worth £75 from Sainsbury’s and razor blades worth £27 from Tesco and two offences of failing to comply with the community protection order. He was jailed for 14 weeks. Tracy Yates, prosecuting, said the order related to Burnley town centre. The order had been served in August for a six-month period.
Keith Rennison, defending, said his client required a certain level of alcohol to function and couldn’t always afford it.
He said: “He managed to beat a drug addiction but transferred his dependency to alcohol. He now needs help to tackle that addiction.”
