FOUR men arrested on suspicion of murdering a man in a Blackburn hotel have been released and will face no further action after it was revealed the alleged victim died of natural causes.
The men, aged 23, 48, 49 and 42, all from Blackburn, were arrested in July following the death of Andrew Whitter.
Mr Whitter, 54, originally from Chorley, was found with a number of head injuries at the Islington Motel, Great Bolton Street, at around 10pm on July 10.
He was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital but died three days later.
That led police to launch a murder probe and the four men were arrested as detectives investigated whether Mr Whitter had been assaulted and robbed in the days before he was taken to hospital.
But further medical tests revealed that Mr Whitter died of natural causes.
Police have today confirmed that all those arrested have now been released and will face no further action.
