A WOMAN who was secretly filmed and photographed by a police officer has told a jury she was ‘mortified’ when she found out.

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told the jury at Liverpool Crown Court she felt ‘physically sick’ and ‘anxious’ when defendant Jayson Lobo allegedly threatened to send some compromising photographs of her to people where she worked.

At the start of the second day of the trial of Lobo, who denies 18 counts of voyeurism against eight women, the jury was shown explicit videos and photographs he had taken featuring himself and the complainant.

The jury heard the pair began a relationship in late 2014 and the first time the complainant went to Lobo’s house he kissed her and tried to initiate further sexual contact, which she stopped.

The court heard that in November 2014 Lobo, 47, of Woodfold Park, Mellor, took a photograph during one of the first sexual encounters he had with the complainant.

The complainant only became aware of its existence in May 2016 when she was shown by a detective investigating the case, the court heard.

But in January 2015 the complainant did notice Lobo, who used to work as a response officer in Preston but also had stints in Burnley, Colne and Haslingden, recording her.

When asked by prosecutor Martine Snowdon for her recollections, the complainant told the jury: “At some point I realised he had his phone in his hand.

“Whether it was the light shining or I could see myself on the screen.

"I said ‘what are you doing?’ and pushed the phone away.”

When asked how she felt when she realised she was being filmed, the complainant said: “I just felt ill. I was horrified.

The court heard that the following day she messaged Lobo while on the train and he told her he would deleted the video.

The court heard the complainant reported Lobo to the police in May 2015.

But she later withdrew her support for the prosecution because she was unsure about whether he had any videos or photographs of her saved — and did not want him wrongly arrested.

But the pair’s relationship soured later that month when she discovered Lobo was going to Mexico with another woman.

The court heard the complainant rang the airport and hotel where the woman was staying to try and warn her about the defendant.

Attempts were also made by the alleged victim’s mother to contact her.

It was a result of that Lobo allegedly threatened to send photographs of the complainant performing an explicit act in his kitchen to people at her place of work.

The jury was read transcripts of a recorded telephone conversation between Lobo and the complainant which took place in November 2015.

In it Lobo told her that she had given him ‘complied permission’ to film the video, something the complainant denied.

The court heard the offences were alleged to have happened between December 2011 and May 2015.

It is alleged Lobo met all but one of his victims on the dating website.

The court also heard that he often lied about his age on the website.

The trial continues.
