A 30-YEAR-OLD Burnley man breached a sexual harm prevention order within weeks of it being made.

Blackburn magistrates heard the breaches also put Graham Pilkington in breach of a suspended prison sentence imposed for internet sex offences involving children.

Pilkington, of Wordsworth Street, Burnley, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with a notification order by notifying the police he had a new bank card, deleting internet history from and iPhone in breach of a sexual harm prevention order, possession of a USB stick in breach of the order and failing to present an internet enabled tablet when requested by police.

He was sent in custody to Preston Crown Court to be sentenced on July 27.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said Pilkington had been convicted of making indecent images of children and attempting to facilitate child sex offences in April.

"He was made subject to a suspended prison sentence, registration requirements and a sexual harm prevention order," said Miss Allan. "They were supposed to control his risk in the community but very soon after they were imposed be has breached all the control measures."

Miss Allan said police carried out a compliance visit and discovered the new bank card, the deleted internet history and the iPhone, which he said he didn't have.

"He has done exactly what the orders were put in place to stop," said Miss Allan.

Mark Williams, defending, said the offences on their own may not result in a custodial sentence but the proximity to the original offence meant the suspended sentence was highly likely to be activated.
