DETECTIVES are hunting two men who stabbed a man several times before riding away on a scooter.

Officers said the two attackers approached a property in Astbury Chase, Darwen and stabbed a 26-year-old man with a knife through a ground floor window.

The victim suffered a hand injury and ran upstairs before the pair, both wearing helmets, gained entry to the property stabbing the man again.

The attackers then left the scene on the scooter, police said.

The victim suffered injuries to his back, shoulder, chest and left hand, as well as a head wound and was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital for treatment.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information about those responsible to contact them.

DC Rachel Norris said: “An investigation is underway following a serious wounding at an address in Darwen.

“The victim has been left extremely shaken by his ordeal after being attacked and stabbed several times.

"The injuries required hospital treatment and the victim is now recovering.

“This a very serious incident and it is crucial we find the individuals responsible for the attack.

“We believe someone must know something and we would urge anyone with information, no matter how insignificant, to contact us.

“All reports to police will be treated in the strictest confidence.”

Details of the incident, which was said to have happened around 10.30pm on June 7, have only just been released by police.
