A 47-YEAR-OLD woman who crashed into a neighbours car as she drove back from the shop was found to be more than three times the drink drive limit.
Blackburn magistrates heard when the car owner went out to investigate the incident he found his neighbour sitting in the car with a blank expression on her face.
And when police went to her home an hour later Sarah Jennings fell against the wall she was so intoxicated.
Jennings, 47, of Brighton Terrace, Darwen, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol.
She was banned from driving for 29 months, fined £10 with £85 costs and £85 victim surcharge and ordered to complete an alcohol treatment programme.
Matthew Siddall, prosecuting, said because of the delay in the police arriving it would have been easy for Jennings to say she had been drinking since the accident but she didn't.
Damien Pickup, defending, said his client had, for some unknown reason, driven to the shop just 150 yards away.
"She can offer no explanation as to why she got into the car to drive such a short distance," said Mr Pickup.
