Tributes to Rebecca Logie
TRAGIC: Rebecca Logie, 19, of Chorley was killed in the crash
TRAGIC: Rebecca Logie, 19, of Chorley was killed in the crash

Rebecca Logie's father has paid tribute to her after she died in a bus crash in Ecuador.

Robin Logie said: "Becci was the kind of girl who lived life to the full and wouldn't let her fears get in the way of doing anything.

"She was the kind of person that people took to instantly, even as a baby people would look at her and smile."

Mr Logie added: "Becci went on the trip not knowing anyone but that is something she has always done.

"She used to go on camping trips, firstly as a child, and then helping out and she would often chose certain camps because she knew there was no-one there who she knew and it would be a chance to meet new people.

"She just really loved meeting new people.

A friend of Rebecca Logie has created a "Becci Logie RIP" group on Facebook, for friends and family to pay tribute to her.

Her sister, Emily Logie, wrote on Rebecca's page: "I want to thank everyone for their comments and want to keep everyone posted on the funeral date."

She added: "The family really want a huge celebration so it would mean a lot to us to see you all there."

Laura Brocklehurst, of the University of Cumbria, wrote: "Becci, you will be missed dearly by everyone who was blessed by your presence.

"You were a beautiful and graceful person both in your dancing and in life, always being able to put a smile on the faces around you."

Amy Shaw, from Manchester, wrote: "I can't believe this.

"Becci was far too special to have her life cut short."

Her friend from college, Gina, wrote: "I remember our meal, just the two of us, the night before A-level results.

"I was praying to get A's, and you? haha, you were so relaxed that night that you had two desserts!

"We spent all night talking about our lives after college, you dreamed of a fabulous gap year, and a wardrobe full of Armani and Kurt Geiger, whilst I looked forward to living in London, waiting for you.

YOUR TRIBUTES
If you would like to post your memories of Becci, or send condolences to her family, please add your comments below.

"Looking back I don't think I told you how much you meant to me, how much I genuinely couldn't wait for you to join me the following year. I wish I had.

"I wish alot of things now - I wish I knew where you were to put my mind at rest, I wish I could laugh with you just one more time."

Rachael Haddon, of Chorley, wrote: "It is hard to find the words. I have been in such shock since I heard. Although I rarely saw you nowadays, I will miss you greatly.

"We last spoke on Easter Sunday. You told me about your trip, I wished you all the best. I can't believe it has turned out like this.

"Rest in peace Becci. May God keep you safe in his kingdom. Thoughts and prayers for your mum, dad and sister, Emily. Love always."

In a statement, Winstanley College principal Steve Wood, said: "Becci was much loved by both staff and students.

"An extremely able academic who never achieved less than a grade A in either her GCSEs or A levels, she made an outstanding contribution to the life of the college.

"She took part in many college productions and was the driving force behind Winstanley TV, being solely responsible for the production of the weekly "60" news programme.

"Her calm intelligence informed her work and her relationships with friends and teachers and she will be sadly missed by the college community.

"Our thoughts are with Becci's family at this very difficult time."

Martin Hurst, media technician at the college, added: "Becci was one of Winstanley TV's founding students.

"Although she never minded being in front of the camera, she preferred to do things behind the scenes, the technical stuff.

"She had a very active mind and was never afraid to get her hands dirty.

"It is such a tragic loss."

We read about Rebecca's death and want to express our deepest and sincerest condolences. We never met Rebecca but last june lost our own daughter, Helen, in very simliar circumstances. She was killed, along with two colleagues, in Africa in a mini bus accident whilst working for the charity 'chain of hope'.
We really do know how you feel and if speaking to someone who understands would help please feel free to contact us.

Becci, beautiful Becci,if only you knew how hard it has been, the last two days, contemplating a life, without you.

you know i dont realy believe in alot of things,im not a great believer, you knew that, but i did believe that you were one of lifes great acquisitions. When we first met,I was overwhelmingly intimidated by your intelligence,it astounded me so much that i thought we'd never be as close as we eventually became. Your ability to interact and work in such an intelectual manner, was quite unbelievable. The more time we spent together, the more trips to Greek and italian restaurants we shared, the more i came to understand that every single one of your qualities were as valuable and endearing as your intelligence. Your beauty, your endless talents and your kind heart.

I remeber our meal, just the two of us,the night before A-level results,i was praying to get A's, and you?haha, you were so re;axed that night that you had two deserts!we spent all night talking about our lives after college, you dreamed of a fabulous gap year, and a wardrobe full of Armani and Kurt Geiger. Whilts i looked forward to live in London, waiting for you. Looking back i dont think i told you how much you meant to me,how much i genuinely couldn't wait for you to join me the following year. I wish I had

I wish alot of things now,I wish I knew where you were,to put my mind at rest, I wish I could laugh with you just one more time.

So, even though i could fill five thousand pages, and still not be content with all the things i need to say to you,i leave you one last piece of Shakespeare, I know you'll read alot of him where ever you are, and know that i feel truely truely blessed to have had you to myself for some very precious moments of your wonderluf life, thankyou Becci

Doubt thou the stars are fire, doubt that the sun doth move, doubt truth to be a liar but never doubt that I love- Shakespeare

Jane and Robin, I know my mum (Carol) has already posted but I wanted to send my own message. I have good memories of Robin in Ormskirk Musical Society. Since I heard the news have been thinking about you both, and Emily, very much. Though I only met the girls when they were very little, I remember you all as such a lovely family. You're right that this shouldn't stop anyone from travelling and trying to help the way Becci did; you can't protect people from everything, whereever they are. Rachel

I have just recieved an e-mail from my daughter Charlotte and her boyfriend Josh Carter who are one month into there gap year trip around the world. From Thailand she writes,
My main reason for writing is, I am sure most of you will have heard about the tragic accident in ecuador, 5 girls were killed in a bus crash. I knew one of the girls, Rebecca Logie, from parties and mutual friends
quote
etc,i had seen her and chatted a few times, she went to St Michaels High school in chorley and winstanley college so obviously alot of my friends were good friends with her. It is so so tragic and the story has hit a strong note with me as you can imagine. It would be easy for it to scare me, but for those girls sake I promise to enjoy each lucky day I have to the full and I am so grateful I have you all behind my wonderful journey. Please pray for Beci, she was a very talented young girl, the same age as myself, with her whole life ahead of her...I can't imagine what her family are going through, and her friends. Keep her in your thoughts and never forget how happy I am doing this trip and how much I miss each and everyone of you!

A very special day with Becci and her family has now become one of my most treasured memories. We met up just over four months ago to try out the new indoor-ski facility at Trafford. At the time, I was so impressed by the vivacity, joy of life and optimism of both Becci and her sister, Emily. We all had such fun that day. Above all, was their ability to communicate so meaningfully with the older generation. It is a great tribute to Robin and Jane that both girls could enable me, as uncle, to feel so included and involved in their lives and future aspirations. Becci leaves us with vibrant memories and, as so many have already written, the greatest tribute we can pay her is to emulate her engagement with life itself and the people around her.

Colleague of Jane who only heard today of your tragic loss of Becci.......sending my heartfelt condolences to you all and to two girls who have a wonderful, loving mum who supports them with getting the most from their dreams.

I had the opportunity to meet Jane & Robin's two lovely daughters Becci and Emily on one occasion during a Christmas celebration at work Dec 2003. I was so inspired by how much Jane spoke about her daughters being so proud it made me smile! i have a picture of jane with both the girls from this celebration and it will imprint a memory that will last with me forever because Becki had followed her dreams and has been on the path to achieve what she wanted to do!
My utmost, sincere condolences to Jane, Robin & Emily for your loss of Becci

Becci was a daughter to be proud of. She was a beautiful, intelligent and good hearted girl. We always said that one day she would 'set the world on fire' with her achievements. What a loss! We are all so deeply saddened by her very premature end.

Becci, for 8 years you were my best friend, I loved you unconditionally since the first day I met you in the corridor. Your smile and warmth have inspired me to do so much with my life, i know you wanted me to succeed and i will.
I was so lucky to spend an extra two years at college with you, dancing in Barcelona, such fond memories; like the time you got your tights stuck on the lights during the ballet. It was so funny.

Our group is back together now, smiling and laughing and I know you are with us now, and forever. We will always be missing one, but never will we forget. You enriched our lives so much so that we are honoured to call you our best friend.

Always in my heart

Seanie

Becci I didn't know you for very long and we only spoke when you came into the salon for your beauty treatments. You always seemed so happy and full of life. It's so tragic that it has been cut so short. My heart goes out to you and your family Robin, Jane and Emily. You will be sadly missed. Sleep well Becci. X

I could not have asked for a better friend. Through all the hard times Becci was there, to offer her friendship and to cheer me up with her smile and lack of common sense. I first met Becci at nursery and we continued our friendship through dancing and high school.
Becci was the most talented person I have ever known and she will be missed so much by so many people.
She lit up every room she walked in to and her enthusiasm for life was infectious.
She inspired me to achieve and I looked up to her. She pushed all of our group of friends to achieve and we are all so grateful to her for that.
Whilst I am devastated that her life was cut short, I am so glad she lived such a full life, and feel privileged to have known her.
I will always miss you. You will never be forgotten.
Laura x
