Tributes to Jane Young
 |
| Jane Young |
Friends of Burnley teenager Jane Young, who has died in New Zealand, said she had been a 'brilliant friend' who was full of life.
Jane had attended Wellfield C of E Primary School, Ightenhill, and spent a year at Ivy Bank High School before moving to New Zealand with her mother Lorraine, and brothers Christopher, Alastair and George.
Tiffany Thomas, a classmate at Wellfield, said: "She was full of life, really happy, and dedicated to her friends and her schoolwork.
"It was her idea to set up a school newspaper and we worked together on it.
"She was a brilliant girl and I can't believe she's gone.
"I'm just trying to get in touch with as many of her old friends in Burnley as possible now, so that we can all remember her together.
"We all missed her a lot when she moved."
"The family had gone to New Zealand for a better life, and they were all doing so well."
Principal of Jane's school in New Zealand Vince Dobbs said she was an "incredible" young woman.

|
He said: "I suppose you'd call her the brightest and the best.
"She was most enthusiastic, positive, always able to get the best out of a situation, and never let an opportunity go past."
In her profile on the website bebo.com, Jane described herself as a party animal whose motto was "live for the moments you can't put into words".
Friends in New Zealand have set up a memorial page to her.
One, Laura Huntley, said: "You don't deserve to be where you are and I'll always, ALWAYS remember your smile and your laugh and everything about you. Much Love."
Another added: "Forever Jane Young who "lived fast and died young" - she will stay burned in my memory forever."
Friends including some of those who were at the party will hold a silence in the centre of Christchurch on Saturday.

Rest in Peace Jane, I remember you from primary school and you seemed like a happy, beautiful girl. This didn't deserve to happen and I hope you're in a good place now. Gone but never forgotten.

Jane, It was so upsetting when you moved away to New Zealand, but now, knowing that you wont be able to come back to see us agen is absolutely devistating. You were an amazing girl with so many friends and you are missed so much by all of them. Ill neva forget our talks on the way home from school, or whenwe were all at your house for one last time before you moved and how we all just cried all night, or how u used 2 tell us that our boyfriends wernt good enough for us and you were always right! You were a great girl and an irreplaceable friend. The memories that we have of you we will cherish forever. Looking at pictures of you now you are so beautiful, a true face for an angel.
We will never forget our little jayney bah dah.

Thank you everyone, for your lovely, heartfelt words.
It is a great help to us to know that so many of you in our home town are thinking of Jane and the rest of us.
Why do things like this always seem to happen to the nicest people, like our Jane and the other girl, Hannah - another bright, lovely girl with everything to live for?
Anyway, thanks again and thanks to Wellfield School for marking this tragedy.

To Chris & family,
My heart goes out to you all - your beautiful sister who will always be with you, looking over you & your family. You have spoken so beautifully of Jane and your words so heartfelt. She would be very proud of you and your strength that you have shown during this time. I didn't know Jane personally but my brother was doing his English homework with her at school on the Friday and like everyone - is finding it hard to believe that this has happened. It seems that everyone who met Jane couldn't help but love her as she touched the lives of so many in her 16 years - she can never be forgotten.
I'll make sure my brother looks out for you Chris :)
'Memories never fade - they only get more precious.' Thinking of you & your family at this time.
Gabriella.(Joe Nolan's sister)
