The family of Ashley Connell, who died in a car accident in Mellor, have released a statement paying tribute.
Ashley, 23, of Knowsley Road, Wilpshire, a front seat passenger, received fatal injuries after he was thrown from the vehicle.
Ashley was born with a condition called congenital hydrenal hyperplasia and was not expected to live for more than 12 weeks.
Uncle to Anna and Ellie, he worked for the family company Groundworks although he was due to start his dream job in fashion in Manchester yesterday.
The statement from mum Christine, dad Mick, brother Lawson and sister Hayley said:
"Ashley was a lively, outgoing lad who lived life to the full.
"He loved his family and friends and was loved by everyone.
"He adored his girlfriend, Rachel, who is devastated - she has not only lost her boyfriend but her best friend.

"He lived for his weekends where he would put his skinny jeans on and go to Leeds with his friends to party.
"Then on Sundays, he used to just sit in front of the TV in his blue dressing gown watching football.
"He loved his holidays to Ibiza and last year he went to Germany to the World Cup to follow England with his mates.
"We would like to thank him for the 23 years we knew him and all the times he had us in stitches laughing with his taking off other people, especially our dad.
"Ashley will be remembered for what he was and what he is in spirit now, a fun loving lad with more personality than anyone you ever met.
"We want this to reflect in his funeral and wish for his friends not to wear black but to dress as they would if they were going out on a Saturday night."

I was invloved in a fatal car crash 07 feb. i was the front seat passenger with the driver (21) who was also one of my best friends. All I remember about Ashley was the little kid with glases playing football on the street when we were going out for the night with his older brother. He grew up to be a real top bloke loved by all he meet. gone but never forgoten. My heart goes out to Lawson and all his famliy x

Mick, i don't really know what to say. We're not meant to outlive our kids are we? If he was owt like you, my old mate, he'd a been a good lad, and I'm sure you're massively proud of that.

aww am so sorry to hear about this, its so sad to lose a close member of family, i lost my brother Michael Grunshaw just over 6 months ago and it saddens me to think someone is going through the same pain i was/am. RIP Ashley my thought are with you and your family. To the rest of the people in the car i hope you get better soon xxx

Ash, You are a great lad, i didnt know you to well, but i remember the younger years when we went round salesbury and all the group going into the woods drinking, to going to wilpshire hotel playing pool and getting drunk....i remember when you were always round at romins and sharleys smiling and laughing.il miss them good times, you always made them nights the best!!! Ashley, i hadnt seen you for a few years but i cant believe whats happened. My heartfelt sympathies go out to the loved ones who miss you massively. The photo of you in the paper is etched on my mind, i hope others will remember how precious their life is and realise how lucky they are to have loving families like yours. I hope you can still see them and know how much your family and friends miss and love you x

A long time since i've spoken to you properly but the first 10 years of my life were shared with you in them. what a shame what a short life what tragedy i know exactly what its like wen u in a fast car u dnt think of consequences its just tat buzz but sometimes that buzz is jus nt worth the fast drive...what heartfelt sympathy sent out...also to the family how ripped apart they must be..sorry to hear about this tragic loss..[bold]bold[/bold]

so so sorry to hear about this tragedy..hadnt seen ash in a few years but he and rachel celebrated my 18th with me and he really was a lovely lad.my heart truly goes out to you rachel, and to ashlys family.. i hope you rest in peace ashly xx

I have lost such a good friend, had some good laugh.we had some good hoildays when we went 2 spain and germany, and r mad nites out in leeds manchester and cardiff,not forgeting r trip in blackpool still got the video. i will always remeber the days at work 4 the council had some gud times.u be miss. Mum called from home, and I can't believe that little lad who made us laugh so much as kids is gone! There's nothing I can say that wouldn't be an understatement.

I still cant believe your gone. It feels like a bad dream. I am so glad i met such a top guy and had the privalidge to call a mate. I will never forget our infamous outings to Manchester, Blackpool and that, they were the highlights of my life. You was one of the boys and always will be one of the boys.
