Man denies Whittle-le-Woods armed robbery

A man charged with an armed robbery at a Chorley off-licence has denied the allegation.

Carl Gilgun, 27, of Schoolfield, Bamber Bridge, appeared at Preston Crown Court via video link on Monday accused of the raid at D&B Stores, Chorley Old Road, Whittle-le-Woods, on November 10.

A 49-year-old female shop assistant was assaulted with a gun in the incident and hundreds of pounds were taken.

Gilgun will face trial on May 23.
