Police in Chorley are appealing for the public's help to search for an elderly woman who went missing from her home last night.
Eighty-year-old Winifred Kellett, known by family and friends as Betty, was last seen by her partner at their home address on Ryefield, Heapey near Chorley.
She went to bed at 7pm last night, and her partner last saw her when she got up to go to the toilet at midnight.
Betty is 5ft 5ins tall with short grey hair and was last seen in her night dress and grey slippers, and could possibly be wearing a yellow anorak with no hood.
She suffers from memory loss and her condition has recently been deteriorating.
Sergeant Alison Harris from Chorley Police said: "Betty is 80 years old and suffers from memory loss and osteoporosis.
"She has gone missing during very stormy and windy weather wearing very little clothing so we are understandably concerned.
"She has been known to go out walking during the day but is usually found quickly nearby.
"I would appeal to anyone who think they may have seen Betty to contact Chorley Police on 01772 410736 or dial 999 in an emergency.
"I would also urge local residents to check their gardens and out houses in case Betty has sought shelter."
