RUSH-hour trains on the York to Blackpool line were cancelled after a man died when he was struck on the lines.
The incident happened on the line near Hoghton at Gregson Lane around 7.05am and no trains were able to run between Pleasington and Bamber Bridge for around an hour.
The man has not been named but police said he was a 44-year-old from Bamber Bridge.
His death is not being treated as suspicious by officers.
The incident was at the Mintholme level crossing and saw several roads in the area closed while police investigations took place.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: “BTP can confirm that a person died after being struck by the train.
“The incident around 7.05am and is being treated as non-suspicious.”
