Central Lancashire Primary Care Trust (PCT) has confirmed plans for a new purpose built three to four doctor general practice in Buckshaw Village, Chorley.
A separately run NHS dental practice will also be located in the building.
Expressions of interest have already been invited from prospective GP service providers and, following a 13 week planning process, the new facility is expected to take nine to 12 months to build.

The new practice will provide easy access to a full range of services ranging from minor injuries and specialist nurse led clinics as well as GP consultations.
"This is great news for this growing community and will give residents a new modern health facility with primary medical and dental services," said Peter Tinson, associate director of commissioning and patient choice.
