A person has been killed after being struck by a train near Euxton in Chorley today.
British Transport Police were called to the scene one-and-a-half miles south of Euxton Station in Chorley at 11.45am where the person was pronounced dead by paramedics.
The train involved was the 8.51am Edinburgh to Birmingham New Street service.
The gender or the identity of the dead person has not been revealed.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
The line was closed until about 1pm.
