A Chorley dad will be pushing himself to the limit next week when he kayaks 100 miles of the River Thames, and then runs the Flora London Marathon to raise vital funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Steve Berry, from Euxton, plans to start paddling from Lechlade-on-Thames in Gloucestershire in a two man kayak.
He will be accompanied by his friend Andy Pearson and plans to row 100 miles, or further if possible.
They aim to finish on Saturday April 12 when Steve will hotfoot it over to ExCel to register for the London Marathon the next day.
The following day Steve will run 26.2 miles with paddle in hand!
Steve is undertaking this phenomenal challenge to raise vital funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
His nine year old daughter Rebecca has Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is the UK's most common, life-threatening inherited disease and claims three lives a week in the UK.
Thirty-nine-year-old Steve aims to raise £10,000 a year to help fund research into treating and curing CF.
Steve said: "I'm not an athlete, a good runner, fell walker or a canoeist, but nothing will stop me from raising more funds and lots of publicity for Cystic Fibrosis. My girl's future depends on it."
Steve hopes to paddle a total of 2000 miles over the next year, and will also be undertaking the Three Peaks Challenge in June.

It will also help provide support, advice and appropriate clinical care to the 8,000 babies, children and adults with Cystic Fibrosis in the UK.
