The Runshaw Business Centre at Euxton has been presented with a plaque from the Chartered Management Institute.

The award, presented yesterday, gives the centre official status for running a variety of CMI courses.

Roger McCartney, regional manager for the Chartered Management Institute, said: "I am delighted that Runshaw Business Centre is now an approved Chartered Management Institute, we are now looking at ways in which we can develop the partnership and improve the service to employers."

The CMI is the only chartered professional body that is dedicated to management and leadership.

They are committed to raising the performance of business by championing management through supporting and advising individuals and organisations.

Rob Day, head of school in leadership and management at Runshaw, said: "This is an important step for Runshaw Business Centre, as it gives our management clients access to the Chartered Management Institute qualifications from team leaders at level 2 through to strategic leadership at level 7.

"In addition, their superb facilities that include free access to over 50,000 management books from their library and over two million web resources containing management journals, articles and videos."

The RBC centre currently offers the following CMI courses: CMI Level 3 Introductory Certificate in First Line Management; CMI Level 3 Certificate in Management; CMI Level 4 Introductory Diploma in Management; CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management.

A CMI course gives individuals a nationally recognised award to enhance personal growth and development and to increase contribution to their business.
