Major fire at Coppull scrapyard

A major incident was declared after fire struck at a Coppull breakers yard.
Fire crews were called to Blainscough Lane at around 10am this morning after reports of a building on fire.
One man has been taken to hospital suffering from burns-related injuries.
Concerns over possible hazardous materials at the premises meant that police have declared a 200m exclusion zone around the area for the next 24 hours as it is believed there may be gas welding bottles on the site.
Smoke could be seen over much of Coppull throughout the morning.
