A schoolboy was airlifted to hospital after injuring his neck playing football.
The nine-year-old tripped during morning break at Manor Road Primary School, Clayton-le-Woods, yesterday morning.
The North West Air Ambulance was called after a land ambulance that went out to him got a puncture.
The youngster said he had hurt his neck and therefore he was not moved by school staff.
The air ambulance arrived and took him to Royal Preston Hospital.
He was not found to have any serious injuries and was released last night.
