A COURT has heard how a 14-year-old boy who confronted a teenager over the alleged harassment of his grandparents ended up stabbed to the neck.
Christopher Caunce pulled the fishing type knife from his pocket after he got into a fight with the schoolboy.
Caunce, 18, of Preston Road, Clayton-le-Woods, pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding and possessing an offensive weapon.
He was sentenced to 22 months detention at Preston Crown Court.
The stabbing took place last August in the Buckshaw Hall Close area of Astley Village.
The victim confronted Caunce about him allegedly kicking a football against a window at his grandparents' home.
Ian Dacre, defending, said Caunce had behaved irresponsibly and wished to apologise.
Judge Anthony Russell told Caunce that the injuries could have been very much worse, and there was public concern about the use of knives.
