MP opens school children's centre

Member of Parliament for Chorley opened the Clayton Brook County Primary School Children's Centre.

The centre will cater for Foundation Stage children and offers a range of courses to help enhance educational achievement.

Funds for the centre, in the region of £250,000, has come from government through the SureStart programme.

The centre also offers other courses such as parenting skills, managing children's behaviour and holds drop-in sessions from outside organisations.

Speaking after the opening Mr Hoyle said: "The official opening of the Children's Centre marks a new chapter in the provision education for children in the Clayton Brook area.

"Having spoken to teachers at the school they are excited about the new centre and the possibilities of providing a more comprehensive and high quality education service for pupils.

"I am sure that the local community will benefit from the Children's Centre particularly as outreach work is carried out from the centre which helps support families and children alike."
