A LANCASHIRE theme park is recruiting more than 200 staff to work in a uniquely historic environment - the realm of King Arthur.

Camelot Theme Park, near Chorley, has begun a search for seasonal staff to work in a variety of roles when the family attraction re-opens in the spring.

The park, which bills itself as a “magical kingdom”, is looking for people aged 16 and over to fill roles including catering assistants, ride operators, park patrols and retail assistants.

There are also assistant managers’ positions available in catering and retail.

Mark Leader, operations director of owners Knight’s Leisure, said: “We’re looking for people to join a friendly and hardworking team that delivers one of the North West’s best family days out.

“The opportunities are wide-ranging and we are always looking for confident and enthusiastic people to join us.”

Around 240,000 people visited the Charnock Richard site last year.

Camelot has a new attraction for this season in King Arthur’s Birds of Prey and Animal Centre which will show flying displays by eagles and falcons over the medieval theme park.

Existing favourites at the site are the Knightmare rollercoaster, which generates 5Gs of power, is more than half a mile long and reaches speeds in excess of 40mph.

Camelot will also continue with its jousting tournament where King Arthur’s knights put their skills and horsemanship to the test.
