CAMELOT Theme Park has reported a bumper start to the season, just weeks after being on the brink of closure.
The Charnock Richard park’s opening weekend has been hailed a ‘resounding success’ attracting almost 7,500 visitors to Chorley over the bank holiday break.
Operations Director Mark Leader, said: “Visitor numbers were almost 25 per cent up on the equivalent Bank Holiday weekend last year and this has given us the best possible start to the new season.
“The weather worked in our favour, but more importantly our team has worked very hard to get Camelot open in a short space of time and to publicise the re-opening and all that effort seems to have really paid dividends.
"Families and groups of visitors flocked to the park from all over the North West and the feedback we received was really positive.”
Among the attractions that visitors to the park enjoyed were several new rides, Squire Bumpkins Farm and the return of the jousting tournament.
