Global company Kimberly-Clark has opened a huge distribution plant Lancashire which will see up to 140 jobs created in Chorley.
The company have moved into the former Wolseley distribution centre in Buckshaw Village, investing approximately £7m in the 360,000 square foot warehouse site.
Kimberly-Clark’s President of European Consumer Products, Giles Turrell, officially opened the site today.
The building is now ready to go into full operation, housing more than 60,000 pallets of Kimberly-Clark consumer products, including Andrex, Kleenex and Huggies.
The unit was originally purpose built for Wolseley UK which made a decision that it was surplus to requirements in early 2009. Kimberly-Clark then identified the building as being suitable for its northern distribution.
