100 year splash: Children take to canoes at the pool
Saturday was a day of celebration in Brinscall as the swimming pool marked its 100th birthday A centenary family day brought the community together both in and out of the pool.
Families competed in an intergenerational swimming relay and joined in an inflatable fun session. There were even canoes allowed in the pool.
Outside there was a bouncy castle, sports activities, street dance and a Zumba session.
Brinscall Swimming Pool first opened on June 22, 1911.
It was originally a gift for the mill workers from the owners and was built to commemorate the coronation of King George V, which took place on the same day.
