The 75th birthday of an Adlington woman proved a profitable day for the Lancashire Air Ambulance.
For Helene Robinson requested no gifts from party-goers, just donations to the charity, and even raised extra money through a raffle.
The party, held recently at St Paul's Church Institute, Railway Road, Adlington, raised just over £400.
Helene, a former textiles worker, has one son, Alan, and still lives in Adlington.
