Astley Village Juniors football club has amended its name and launched its new logo becoming Astley and Buckshaw Juniors FC to reflect the two communities it now serves.
The Standard Charter Club took the decision following the success of its move to the Buckshaw Village astro pitch last year. Its Saturday morning open community football sessions attracts large number of young players from both villages and their surrounds and it also runs a successful volunteer mentoring scheme for those interested in coaching.
Astley and Buckshaw will have four teams playing league football in the new season starting in September.
An under 9s team, under 12s , under 14s and under 18s youth team.
The community sessions are open to players 10 and under and run on Saturdays from 9.30am to 11am. The club takes a break during July and the first session of the new season begins on August 1.
