Much Ado over play in Chorley's Astley Park

An outdoor performance of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing is to take place in Astley Park this weekend.

The performance, which has been developed by Heartbreak Productions, will be presented in the park’s Walled Garden.

It is one of a number of summer events organised in Astley Park and takes place this Sunday, August 19 at 6.30pm.

Coun Bev Murray, who is responsible for parks at Chorley Council, said: “We have had quite a few outdoor performances in Astley Park over the last few years and they have been wonderful.

“The Walled Garden is the perfect setting for outdoor theatre and people should bring a picnic and the whole family to enjoy the experience.”

Tickets (£10 or £7 for concessions) available from Café Ambio in Astley Park or at www.heartbreak productions.co.uk Drivers are being urged to be considerate to residents who live close to Astley Park and either walk or use the town centre car parks, which are free on Sundays.

There will be a limited number of spaces available on Hallgate car park for this event.
