One of this year’s BBC Apprentice contestants is returning to a Leyland college to take a hairdressing course.

Jenna Whittingham has already completed a business degree from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and a beauty course at Runshaw College, but now the budding entrepreneur wants to add hairdressing to her growing list of skills.

Jenna set up her own beauty business as soon as she graduated from UCLan.

She was one of the 16 candidates who recently competed in The Apprentice on BBC1 for a £250,000 business investment from Lord Sugar.

She said: “As I am dyslexic, the tutors at Runshaw were very understanding, friendly and supportive throughout my course.

“The evening classes were convenient as I could study for my business degree at UCLan and juggle three part-time jobs too.

“I have enrolled in the fast track course which will be based at my workplace and I hope to complete the course by Christmas this year.”

Jenna now runs two Beauty and the Boutique salons in Penwortham and Wrightington.
