A ‘water baby’ who underwent open heart surgery at the age of six weeks has become the face of a charity campaign.
Rosanna Ogden, now two years old, is the star of British Heart Foundation (BHF) Shops Little Hearts fundraising.
Rosanna, who had surgery to remove a tumour, took up swimming just ten weeks later as doctors said gentle it could help her recovery.
She has already swum a continuous 100 metres for the BHF, can out-swim much older children and can cover large distances under water.
She was on hand to launch the campaign at the weekend at the Chorley BHF shop.
Rosanna’s Mum, Sanam Ogden, of Chorley, said: “When I see her in the water I’m beyond proud, I can barely believe it’s her. We know how unusual her condition is and how far she has come. By raising money for the BHF we hope this will help look after and care for more people.”
Little Hearts badges will be available in BHF Shops during June, for a £1 donation to the campaign which hopes to raise over £500,000.
