A FORGED Scottish £50 note fraudster has struck at a Chorley hotel.
Police are trying to trace the man who has struck eight times at pubs and hotels across Lancashire in the past few months.
He used a fake bank note to pay for a £10 pair of cufflinks at The Pines Hotel, Preston Road, Clayton-le-Woods, on December 14.
Police said he makes small purchases and get as much change as possible.Detectives have now released CCTV images of a man.
PC June Dorrian said: “Similar incidents have taken place in the West Mercia area and we are speaking to them to see if any of them are linked.
“I believe the offender may be Scottish and he could be travelling through passing on his fake notes.
“Although the amounts tend to be small, times are obviously hard and the last thing businesses need is for fake money to be circulating.”
