Pupils from eight primary schools enjoyed taking part in a week of cultural activities funded by the Chorley Children’s Trust.

Around 40 youngsters enjoyed a tour of Old Trafford stadium and went to watch a musical.

There was also an art project hosted at Duke Street Primary School.

Led by local professional artist Ruth Kidd, children produced their own large scale masterpieces in the style of famous artists such as Kandinsky and Malevich.

The finished products will be permanently displayed in each of the participating schools.

Children, parents, staff and local dignitaries gathered at Duke Street to admire the completed paintings.
