Chorley Mayor on whistle-stop charity coffee morning tour

The Mayor, councillor Iris Smith showed her full support for the MacMillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning by visiting three venues within Chorley borough in the space of two hours.

The first stop was Duke Street Primary School for coffee and cakes with the staff and visitors, then onto Abbey Village Primary School were the Mayor joined in their fundraising activities.

Finally the Mayor stopped off at Oak Royal Golf and Country Club, Withnell where she was delighted to win a cake in their raffle.

The Mayor said “It was certainly a hectic morning but it was wonderful that so many groups in the community are doing their bit for MacMillan Cancer Care.

"I met many people who had took time out of their busy schedules to support and help to raise money for this very worthy cause”
