Chorley woman's pond death is not suspicious

Police have said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a Chorley woman found dead in a pond.

Georgina Roberts-Grimshaw’s body was seen by canoeists in the pond at Bibby’s Farm, Back Lane, Heath Charnock.

They raised the alarm at 2.45pm on June 22.

The 56-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

A police spokesman said an investigation had concluded Mrs Roberts-Grimshaw had drowned and there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

The matter has been passed on to the coroner.
