Four people were arrested after a man received arm injuries after a knife attack on a Chorley Street.
The injured man was on Pall Mall, close to Knowles Street at 4.45pm on Friday, July 3 when the incident occurred.
The victim was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he was treated and later released.
Police sealed off an area of pavement on Pall Mall for several hours after the incident and blood could be seen on the path on Saturday.
Detective constable Rob Dainty, from Chorley CID, said: “We are investigating an incident in which a man received a gash to the arm.
“We believe after the incident the victim walked down Pall Mall to Bowland Avenue.”
The four arrested people have been released on police bail pending further investigation.
