Chorley Hospital has received positive scores in a survey looking at cleanliness, food and privacy.
The hospital, along with Royal Preston, were rated excellent for the quality of their food and were judged to be good for their environment, which includes the quality of cleanliness.
Chorley and South Ribble Hospital received a top rating for its privacy and dignity facilities and Royal Preston Hospital was assessed as good.
The hospitals, which are run by Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, were scored under the national Patient Environment Action Team (PEAT) programme.
The survey was carried out earlier in the year at every hospital in the country and is run by the National Patient Safety Agency.
Tony Curtis, chief executive of the trust, said: "This is a tremendous result.
"We are delighted and the results are well-deserved recognition for our staff, particularly our cleaning and catering teams.
"Cleaning premises the size of Chorley and South Ribble Hospital and Royal Preston Hospital is a difficult task.
"The cleanliness of our hospitals is also the first impression many people get of the standard of care and quality of services that they can expect and clean wards also give us the upper hand in tackling hospital acquired infections.
"However, we are not complacent and we recognise that there are areas at both hospitals which need further investment which is why we are undertaking a major revamp of our wards at Royal Preston Hospital and also improving facilities in Chorley."
Ian Cox, Director of Facilities,said: "All our meals are prepared in-house and our catering team strives to produce high quality food.
"ver a number of years we have had received consistently positive reviews about our food, which really has changed the image of hospital food."
