Police are joining forces with partners in Chorley and South Ribble to host crime prevention road shows.
The events are part of Operation Julius, a month long campaign by the police aimed at tacking burglary in Lancashire.
The road shows are being held on Monday and Tuesday, July 6 and 7 on Booths car park on Millbrook Way, Penwortham between 10am and 4pm.
A third road show will be held on Wednesday, July 15 between 10am and 4pm at Tesco’s in Leyland.
Crime prevention officers will be on hand at the road show to give advice on home security, vehicle safety and keeping personal property safe. Lancashire Police Southern Division Superintendent, Bill Mc Mahon explained: "Burglary figures are low and we want to keep them that way. Many burglaries are the result of opportunist crime, resulting from people leaving windows and doors open, especially in the warm weather. Our crime prevention officers can offer some useful advice and tips to deter burglars, which if people take notice of will have a big impact on helping to keep the number of burglaries down."
Lancashire Police Crime prevention Officer Pam Hodges added: "Our advice is to keep windows and doors secured, even when you are home. And also to keep sheds and garages locked and valuables such as bikes and tools put away.
“If anyone can’t make the road shows but would like us to do a home visit to offer crime prevention advice they can contact me on 01772 625541 or my colleague Beverly Warburton on 01772 625593.”
As part of the crime prevention road shows The AA will also be on hand to replacing number plate screws with tamper proof ones to reduce the risk of peoples number plates being stolen.
The road shows have been organised by Safer Chorley and South Ribble Partnership.
