Chorley doctors' surgeries work together during flooding

A doctors' surgery has been forced to close after it sufferred flood damage.

Clayton Brook Surgery was affected by flooding last weekend which has caused it to temporarily close.

The water damage has affected the clinical areas of the practice and it is expected to take three to four weeks for the surgery to reopen as usual.

Alternative arrangements have been made for patients to be seen by Dr Khanna and Dr Singh at Dr Hamad’s surgery at 652 Preston Road, Clayton-le-Woods.

The practice nurse from Clayton Brook Surgery will see patients at Clayton Brook Clinic every Wednesday.

Peter Tinson, associate director of commissioning and patient choice, said: "To ensure patient safety whilst cleaning is ongoing at the surgery, patients are now being seen at Dr Hamad’s surgery and Clayton Brook Clinic.

"We are trying to keep any disruption of service to a minimum and this is a great example of two GP surgeries working together to offer a consistent service for patients."
