Youngsters in Chorley will be kept busy over the school holidays with an exciting summer of activities.
As the school term draws to a close Chorley Council’s get up and go team are gearing up for their biggest holiday programme ever.
Whether it’s football and cricket or music and drama there is something for every interest and ability.
Councillor Peter Goldsworthy, leader of Chorley Council, said: “This year we have got loads of fantastic activities to keep youngsters active over the holiday period.
“We’ve listened to what people want to do and have tried to cater for every interest and ability.
“From golf to music and photography to basketball there is plenty to try for anyone who wants to learn a new skill and meet different people.
“We’ve also included lots of new venues so there will be activities in every part of the borough.”
The get up and go scheme is a free or low cost all-year round activity programme for youngsters in the Chorley borough.
Hundreds of people take part each year and this summer is the first time the council has run the four separate weeks of summer play schemes.
The ‘just for fun’ weeks cover a variety of venues, many in rural areas.
