A CHILDREN’S indoor play-centre could be moving to Euxton.

Owners of Cheeky Monkey’s Northwest Play and Party Limited on Factory Lane have submitted plans to Chorley Council to transform the former Forensic Science Service laboratory site in Euxton into their new home.

The Citizen reported the news that the Whittle-le-Woods business was looking to move in 2019.

They have been running on Kem Mill Lane for 14 years and director Lorraine Kearney admitted they were looking to stay local in January this year.

In a statement, it is claimed that planners should base their decision on the basis that there is a ‘lack of alternative options for them to relocate’.

Also the ‘employment that is currently provided that will be lost should the business not have a new location’.

They also say: “It is felt aside from the location not falling into the perfect planning land allocation. It has been proven via the sequential test along with the council’s assistance, that there is no better alternative for the relocation of the business.”

The new plans show that there could be a climbing zone, childcare room, three party rooms, play area along with a Teddy shop.

Director Ian Kearney said: “Of course we are excited about the prospect of finding a new location to relocate the business to but the process is more of a marathon than a sprint, since we have been engaged in this process since August 2017.

“Whilst we will be delighted to gain a successful outcome from this planning application we still have a long way to go and a great deal of work to do before our proposed move in the summer of 2019.

“This is a very early first step.”
