A MAN has been arrested after a stabbing at a takeaway in Chorley.

Police officers parked nearby saw a disturbance at Chester’s Chicken on Pall Mall in the town at about 6pm on May 11 and when they went into the takeaway they found a man suffering from stab wounds.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: "He has been taken to the Royal Preston Hospital with serious injuries. They are not thought to be life threatening at this time.

"A second man from Chorley, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in custody.

"An investigation is on-going."

An eyewitness said: "It looked like there had been an altercation between two males and the road was closed for a while.

"There was blue tape outside the shop.

"There was an air ambulance that looked as if it landed near the old fire station on Weldbank Lane."
