350 children from across Chorley and the surrounding areas have signed up to become members of Chorley's brand-new charity, Inspire Youth Zone, months before the Youth Zone is due to open.

Inspire Youth Zone, which officially opens on Saturday 5th May 2018, is a safe and inspiring place that will provide young people aged 8-19 years old and up to 25 for those with a disability with somewhere to go, something to do, and someone to talk to.

Open 7 days a week, whenever schools are closed, young people will have a choice of up to 20 activities each night, including sports, dance, drama, music, media, cooking, martial arts, gym and much more - for just 50p per visit.

With hundreds of young people already signed up, a surge in local volunteers willing to donate their time and a number of local businesses pledging their support – Chorley's brand-new youth charity has united the community in celebration of young people.

Located in the heart of Chorley next to the bus station, the £4.8million Youth Zone is being run in partnership with Chorley Council, Lancashire County Council, The Arts Partnership and OnSide Youth Zones. Also proud to support Chorley's young people are Inspire Youth Zone's Founder Patrons, a network of local businesses and philanthropists, who support the charity's aim to inspire young people to lead healthier, happier, more aspirational lives.

Ryan Powell, Youth Work Manager at Inspire said "With 350 young people already signed up to access our fantastic offer months before Inspire opens, proves the need for somewhere safe, fun and inspiring for Chorley's young people to go. We cannot wait to welcome young people, families, local businesses and the entire community to our grand opening on 5th May 2018 – please save the date and prepared to be inspired!"
