His mother, Diane Parkinson, 57, was also jailed for three years and four months, for her part in his drugs enterprise.

David Parkinson was arrested in April 2016, when officers from the Met's Lambeth based Omega team stopped Parkinson.

He had travelled to London from his Lancashire home to meet his supplier and officers found drugs worth £5,000 in his bag.

Parkinson's home address was searched and an array of crystal meth, cocaine and amphetamine were found along with meticulous ledgers detailing drugs supplied.

His mother was found inside the property in the process of tallying up their order book.

Analysis of David Parkinson's mobile phone allowed officers from the Met to pass evidence of involvement in child sex offences to Lancashire Police's Major Crime Team who arrested and charged Parkinson with arranging a sexual activity with a child aged 13 and paying for sexual activity with a child aged 13.

The court heard that in 2007 David Parkinson, who whilst living in Australia and working within the financial services sector, was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Parkinson returned to England and later involved himself in drug supply, using his position as a supplier to lure children to his house for sex using social networking applications such as Grindr.

David Parkinson pleaded guilty prior to a trial to conspiracy to supply Class A drugs (crystal meth), possession with intent to supply crystal meth, arranging a sexual activity with a child aged 13 and paying for sexual activity with a child aged 13.

Diane Parkinson pled guilty to nine counts of possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs.

Both were sentenced at Inner London Crown Court on Monday, February 13.
