Congestion following crash between J6 and J8
A SERIOUS crash closed the M61 Northbound this morning.
A car reportedly left the carriageway between J6 at Horwich and J8 at Chorley.
The driver is believed to have suffered internal injuries and leg injuries.

It is understood that the vehicle came off the motorway near to Junction 6 at Rivington Services and went down an embankment.
The crash was affecting traffic traveling from Manchester towards Preston.
A diversion was put in place and drivers were being asked to follow the solid black triangle symbols rejoining at J8.
The road has now been reopened.
