A CHORLEY family are appealing for kind-hearted fundraisers to help their disabled daughter finally get outside and enjoy her childhood.

Three-year-old Scarlett Price suffers from cerebral palsy and epilepsy, meaning she can’t walk unaided, struggles to communicate and is prone to seizures.

And that means holidays and trips to the playground are out of the question.

But her mum and dad, Janine, 32, and Michael, 31, are determined to help her enjoy life despite the struggles – by creating a safe outdoor space for her to play in.

They have launched the Scarlett’s Garden appeal, which aims to raise £2,000 to make the outdoor space at their Darlington Close home accessible for their brave daughter.

Janine said: “As a young family we desperately want our little girl to have the same opportunities and experiences that any child her age would have.

“Everything has been very difficult for Scarlett. Even simple things like using a cup or sitting without help has had to be taught and worked on with physiotherapists.

“Despite all this, she continues to develop and amaze us every day.

“The epilepsy has made holidays abroad impossible and even day trips out and camping are very hard to sort out.

“Because we can’t go away or go out easily, we are asking for help to make our garden safe and accessible for Scarlett.”

Janine and Michael have already taken out personal loans to build an extension which provides space for Scarlett to use her walking frame and work with her physios.

But the dream is to get the little girl, who loves singing Bruno Mars chart hit Uptown Funk, safely out into the sunshine.

Janine added: “We need to have the ground level and safe for Scarlett to play and we would love to have artificial grass put down so she can use it all year round.

“We want to ask your readers if they can help us create a safe space for Scarlett this summer – it would mean so much to our family.”
