RESIDENTS fighting to save a post office from closure staged an event on Saturday for people to sign their petition.
The owners of Longshoot Post Office, Haslingden, Ravi and Benita Sethi, have already presented their MP Greg Pope with one petition signed by over 800 people.
The Birch Avenue post office is seen as a lifeline to elderly people living locally.
It is one of 24 East Lancashire post offices earmarked for closure as bosses bid to stem losses of £4million a week.
The Lancashire Telegraph is running a Save Our Post Offices campaign to fight the closure plans.
