Hurstwood set to quit Haslingden for Bolton
The company's new HQ in Bolton
The company's new HQ in Bolton

A BUSINESS which was founded in Rossendale in the 1970s is set to move to new headquarters in Bolton.

Hurstwood is to move to the purpose-built 10,000 sq ft office complex named Oceanic - part of its hugely successful Navigation Park complex - in June.

Hurstwood chairman Stephen Ashworth said: "The move to Bolton makes perfect sense for the business in terms of timing and strategy.

"In recent years we have grown as a company and in doing so have spread our influence across the North West and now much further beyond.

"We have made key changes to our structure and strategy so we feel the time is right. Another factor has been increasing demand for space at Link 665 in Haslingden - our base for the last three years.

"The only way we could satisfy that demand was to move out - so our move to Oceanic in Bolton is perfect."

Oceanic is one of three office buildings, together worth £7 million, which have been developed by Hurstwood at Navigation Park.

Hurstwood will take its existing 100-strong office employee base with it to Bolton.

So Mr Ashworth is no longer proud of his Valley roots, or has he forgotten saying that. His father will be spinning in his grave. How many of the workers will follow him to Bolton, not many.
