A leading firm of accountants and business advisers held a special Christmas fund raiser in support of their local hospice.

Kimberly Haworth and Rachael O’Kane of Cassons, which is now part of the Baldwins Group, organised a dress down day, raffle and cake bake as part of the Youth Enterprise Challenge — an initiative which pairs schools and businesses to raise money for Rossendale Hospice. The activity raised £197.50.

As part of this year’s challenge Cassons has teamed up with Haslingden High School and together they have come up with a number of enterprising ideas, including Cassons’ own fundraising day.

The Youth Enterprise Challenge also has teams from other Rossendale schools — Alder Grange, All Saints, Fearns, and Whitworth High – who have linked up with different businesses.

Cassons’ Senior Director Les Nutter, who heads up the Hospice’s Corporate Ambassadors Group, said: “Each year members of our team work together with students in the Youth Enterprise Challenge and together they come up with some great fundraising ideas. It’s great to be part of such a worthy initiative like this.”
