Hyndburn Park Primary School has 500 pupils and was rated Good in a March 2017 Ofsted inspection, a status maintained since its previous inspection in 2013. The school is currently seeking to appoint a governor to a recently opened vacancy on its board. Our governor profile has indicated that we need to recruit someone with a business background to supplement the high level of professional talent and experience already provided by board members.

We are looking for an individual who is committed to learning in general and to developing the potential of young people in particular. This role might suit someone who is seeking to broaden their personal development within their organisation or sector whilst contributing to the community.

Board and sub-committee meetings take place during the day - usually Monday afternoons and might typically involve six sessions a year together with any other time that the governor might wish to offer.

Here are two quotes from the recent Ofsted report to the Headteacher:

"The Hyndburn Park motto, ‘Dream Believe Achieve’, is tangible throughout the school. Ably supported by your very strong senior leadership team, you lead the school with drive and determination. Leaders demonstrate an unwavering focus on pupils achieving the best possible outcomes. This means that the school is in an even stronger position than when it was last inspected."

"The school benefits from strong governance. Governors possess the necessary skills and expertise to support and challenge you and other leaders. The recently formed strategy committee monitors how effectively the improvement plan is driving the school forward. This committee also plans strategically for the future to ensure that the school is well prepared to meet any challenges ahead."
