Imagine paying to eat a delicious homemade meal with a group of great people having a good time.

Although it’s not your house, you didn’t have to cook and in fact, all these people are strangers.

Sounds unlikely? Well, not for Maria Grieco from Darwen, Lancashire.
A few years ago, Maria, who’s a big fan of cooking, opened her doors to strangers in order to raise money for Scotland’s Forth Valley Royal Hospital where a family member was treated for a brain tumour.

Maria had started a social eating revolution in Darwen and with the support of WeFiFo- short for ‘We Find Food’, a website that advertises hosts like Maria, she continues to develop her home based pop up
restaurant.

BellyflopTV was intrigued by this unique idea of inviting strangers into your home and cooking for them and got in touch with the Italian-Spanish host regarding making a film about this unusual business idea.

Jonathan Robinson, Managing Director and camera operator who attended and filmed a dinner said “I was curious about the idea and instantly wanted to meet Maria. Since moving to the Rossendale area it was important for to me to give back to the community so I started running #RossendaleHour on Twitter. It was a great opportunity to film and it certainly was an eventful night at Dinner@Maria’s.”

Rossendale Hour is a weekly hour long Twitter session when businesses and communities of Rossendale and surrounded areas can share their love of the area; BellyflopTV has also previously filmed with dementia
awareness group Made in Haslingden for the Twitter group.

Dinner@Maria’s video was premiered on Monday 7th August at 8pm on the Rossendale Hour Twitter feed and can be viewed here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAkSQnU-TVw
